AREF Mission

The mission of the American Retirees Education Foundation is to research, educate and inform retirees, future retirees and the general public on how best to protect and promote retirement income security and retiree health care.

What AREF Does

The American Retiree Education Foundation (AREF), is a national 501(c) (3) nonprofit, tax-deductible organization established in 2014 to focus on advocating for policy

reforms to strengthen retirement security. AREF provides in-depth analysis and practical reform proposals, as well as simplified educational material for retirees, older workers, the press, public and policymakers.

AREF also engages and educates retirees, providing them with the information they need to navigate the challenges to pension and health care benefits, while encouraging them to become engaged in the policy debates about needed reforms.

Very important is the need to educate members of Congress, the Administration and federal agencies. AREF validates its proposals on consequences not just on retired Americans but also the U.S. economic well-being and fiscal soundness.
